When it comes down to buying a new smartphone the first thing that comes in our minds is to get the “best” one. Unfortunately these days the phone that has the highest purchase rate is considered as the best. Well sometimes it could be right, but not always.

Factors:

  • Display
  • GPU
  • Battery life

Before we get into it any further we need to point out that nobody designed a smartphone specifically to satisfy all the gaming needs. If you need a device that will be amazing at playing games on the go then you should check Sony PlayStation: Vita Don’t get your hopes down though, cause the most Smartphones nowadays are powerful enough to compete with some of the best portable gaming devices and even beat them.

So one of the factors we should always consider before buying a gaming smartphone is the display. In order to understand what we mean by the term “display” we are going to split the term up. Talking about displays we mean resolution, the size of the screen and the type of the screen. Let’s see each one individually now.

DISPLAY:

Resolution:
The higher the number of pixels the resolution has, the sharper and clearer the image quality is going to be. The most large-screened devices nowadays offer resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 pixels (FULL HD) which is ideal.

Size:
There’s not much to been said here, it’s obvious that we need a satisfyingly large screen in order to achieve some good gaming experience. Anything larger than 4.6-inches should be alright.

Type:
All Smartphones come equipped with either AMOLED or Retina displays. Retina use the Backlit LED or IPS LCD technology and it’s mostly used by Apple devices, as the AMOLED or SUPER AMOLED display is mostly used by Samsung devices and it’s the same one that’s used by the most televisions.

GPU (Hardware):

Moving on, the most important factor is the hardware. In order to be able to run complex games with detailed graphics at full resolution without any lagging or frame dropping the hardware of the device must be powerful and well combined. Three elements. Processor, graphics and memory. If all three are powerful enough then you will be able to play the most recent games with no issues..

BATTERY:

And of course the battery is one of the three factors. Nobody wants to buy a smartphone that will run all the games decently, but will die in a couple of hours. Normally we can predict how long a smartphone will last by seeing it’s battery mAh rate. However not all smartphones consume energy the same way, so we will figure out which smartphone has the longest battery life by testing each one individually.

With no more theory to be told let’s jump straight into our usual top-rated list.
